When is the Cheapest Time to Fly to Europe?

Timing is everything: How to save hundreds on your next trip

Europe is a dream destination, but it can be expensive. However, flight prices fluctuate wildly throughout the year. Flying in January versus August can mean a price difference of over $300 per ticket.

Winter (Nov-Feb)

The absolute cheapest time to fly. Except for Christmas and New Year's, you can find tickets to London, Paris, and Rome for rock-bottom prices.

Shoulder Season (Mar-May)

The sweet spot. Great weather, blooming flowers, and prices are still reasonable before the summer rush.

Peak Summer (Jun-Aug)

The most expensive time. If you must fly now, book at least 3 months in advance or look for last-minute charter deals.
